Alcohol abuse, for those who actually do it, is a big problem. But most people can handle their alcohol. Most people do not become alcoholics. Muslims would have us believe that ALL people are in danger of becoming alcoholics. They argue that Islam is good for all humanity because it will protect us all from becoming college freshman binge drinkers. They are taking that small population of alcoholics, and blowing that number out of proportion. There is nothing wrong with having a drink. We are adults. We are capable of being responsible. Some people do make mistakes, but we do not throw away the whole barrel because of a few bad apples.
