I just finished writing this research paper within the past 5 hours, and although a lot of it was copied, pasted, and filled with synonyms, it was still a laborious task. I know there may be some grammatical issues, but that’s because I literally just got finished writing it, and I am waaay too tired to even read this piece of crap. Anyway it’s due on Tuesday, and I really don’t have time today to polish this research paper. I still have to write one more essay, and then do my history homework. Anyway, here it is and thanks for anyone who actually helps me with this.
Before the 70s, child sexual abuse was a private crime. A consequence over the awareness of what had long been hidden led, unfortunately, to the Ritual Abuse hysteria of the 80s. Eventually, well over 100 cases would be brought nationally against daycare workers, teachers, and parents. Allegations were made that photographs were taken and sold as child pornography. Unlikely accusations were made. Horrors were implied, even though there was no apparent impact on the alleged child victims. A crusade was joined by therapists, feminists, and the police. In one particular case, a $ 25,000 reward was offered for one pornographic photo of one child who had attended the the alleged preschool for the crime. Three cases that were charged with alleged acts of sexual abuse include the McMartin preschool case, the Kern County child abuse case, and the Little Rascals day care center case. Satanic ritual abuse is narrowly defined as an assault (either psychological, physical, or sexual) that takes place on someone of a liturgy ordered pattern compiled into a ceremony of worship aimed at Satan. As such, ritual abuse is one type of occult-related crime but different from various other types of occult crimes such as the adoption of Satanic symbols and language by a serial killer.
In the McMartin Preschool trial, members of the McMartin family, were charged with several acts of sexual abuse of children in their day care. In 1983, Judy Johnson accused McMartin teacher Ray Buckley of sodomizing her son. Her son had been experiencing painful bowel movements, and that instantly sparked belief in her son being abused. Johnson also stated that people at the daycare had sexual encounters with animals. Buckey was not prosecuted due to the lack of evidence for the alleged case. Johnson was hospitalized for schizophrenia, and was eventually found dead in 1986 in her house from chronic alcholism, before the preliminary hearing concluded. Results from interviews of the children indicated that 360 children had been abused by 1984. Later research showed that the questioning of the children was extremely suggestive, leading to what could have been false accusations. Videotapes of the interviews with children were reviewed by Dr. Michael Maloney, a British clinical psychologist and professor of psychiatry. Maloney was highly critical of the interviewing techniques used, referring to them as improper, coercive, directive, problematic, adult-directed in a way that forced the children to follow a rigid script and that “many of the kids’ statements in the interviews were generated by the examiner.” Transcripts and recordings of the interviews included a lot more speech from adults than children, and demonstrated that despite the highly coercive interviewing techniques used, initially the children were resistant to interviewers’ attempts to elicit disclosures. The techniques used were contrary to the existing guidelines in California for the investigation of cases involving children and child witnesses. On March 22, 1984, Virginia McMartin, Peggy McMartin Buckey, Ray Buckey, Ray’s sister Peggy Ann Buckey and teachers Mary Ann Jackson, Bette Raidor, and Babette Spitler were charged with 115 counts of child abuse, subsequently expanded to 321 counts of child abuse involving 48 children. The children’s testimony during the preliminary hearings were very inconsistent, hinting that the children could have been stating made up accusations toward the staff. Authors Michelle Smith and Lawrence Pazder, each spoke with the children and parents involved in the case, and they insisted that initial prosecutor Glenn Stevens to have influenced the children’s testimony. In 1986, a new district attorney called the evidence “incredibly weak,” and all charges against Virginia McMartin, Peggy Ann Buckey, Mary Ann Jackson, Bette Raidor and Babette Spitler were dropped. Peggy McMartin Buckey and Ray Buckey were the only two who had remained in custody, with Peggy McMartin’s bail set at $ 1 million, while Ray Buckey’s was denied. The McMartin Preschool trial was the longest in United States history lasting seven years. To this day, what happened has been highly contested by those that believe in the guilt or the innocence of the defendants.

Your report is very good except for a few corrections.
I am the parent of a child involved in the case and I knew Judy Johnson for several years. She was never hospitalized for schizophrenia and was not a chronic alcoholic. She was under tremendous pressure. There was no Prozac in those days so people could only turn to alcohol for stress. I know many parents did at that time. (see Behind the Playground Walls, Waterman) Judy’s 2 sons were taken away by her ex husband who reported her to Social Services because she was having her older son home schooled. He had terminal brain cancer and died a few years after Judy. The ex husband did not want to the children so they were to be placed in foster homes. Her older son ended up staying with a neighbor and her younger son went to Seattle to live with his uncle (Judy’s brother). Judy was a full time housewife and needed to find a job for the first time in her life with no working experience. Out of concern for Judy,I talked to her father, Mirus XXXX . And he told me Judy was very allergic to alcohol. I remember seeing her sick in bed for days at a time.
LAwrence Pazder and Michelle Smith met with a few parents (4 or 5) at my small apartment in 1984. They never talked to any children. They are the source of the term “ritual abuse” Many of us did not agree with the term to describe our case, and still do not. They never net Glen Stevens. Mr Stevens was fired from the prosecutors office for lying to lead D.A. He was leaking information to the Los Angeles Time and talking to Defense advocate Abbey Mann about the movie he and his wife Myra were writing (Indictment). The McMartin defendants were paid (I heard $ 75,000) for their story. No one on the prosecution side was represented in Mann’s script.
