It is a curious trend that seems to be unfolding among the youth in parts of the country…the more they find themselves out of work, the more they turn to alcohol to drown their woes … And this reality is sadly unfolding in Gathiga village in kikuyu constituency. The older men in the village are pointing fingers at the youth for avoiding marriage and failing to start families. The youth are instead attempting to drown their sorrows in alcohol. Reportedly, most of the children in the nursery schools there are born to the older generation. Sally Mbilu puts that story into perspective.
