Do You Think Should I Go for It?

Question by Merl: do you think should i go for it?
I met this guy in my sixth period about 4 months ago. We text quite often. we’ve hung out (studied together, bowling, arcades) I wasn’t sure I liked him until he came to my prom after party. There was no alcohol, drugs, or sex, so hush :P anyways. He only knew me and one other person out of the 15 or so people there. But he managed to get along with everyone just fine. anyways, him and I played video games with the other people until 4:30am. I went to bed, he stayed up. My mom woke me up at 7am. told me to go accompany him since he was sitting alone in the kitchen with his ipad, reading. we talked for about an hour alone, and then my mom came in and us 3 talked for another hour. He’s incredibly smart, funny, NICE, good looking. I can say we are really good friends. We’ve managed to keep our friendship even though he transferred to a non-traditional night school so he could get enough credits to graduate this year.
I’m pretty confident he likes me. But Two things. I don’t want to bring it up, him say he just wants to be friends, and then things not be the same as it is now. And, it’s may, i go to college in august. Do i just chill and call him a really good friend? Or should i as one of my friends said “tell him, before another day goes by without him knowing how you feel.” Also, i’ve been extremely obvious with my hints and clues of showing him i’m interested. I don’t think hes that type of guy who reads into “hints and signs.”
the after prom party was teh first time I spent substantial amount of time with him alone (without his tag-a-long guy friend who went bowling and to two arcades with us.)
We’re working on getting a day set to to go six flags together.
and also, I would much rather wait for him to make the first move. But part of me worries that that might never happen.
