Is It an Ultimatum, or the Consequences of Crossing a Boundary?

Question by Susan A: Is it an ultimatum, or the consequences of crossing a boundary?
The last time my boyfriend got drunk, I waited until he was sober, and said “I am no longer willing to live with you as an active alcoholic.” For over a month, he didn’t drink. He didn’t go to a doctor, or an AA meeting, or talk to a friend about his alcoholism. He denies that he is alcoholic. Yesterday, he had a drink – while my 11yo son was in his care. I told him I was planning to move out. He says I’m giving him an ultimatum. I say this is a consequence of crossing my known, fully expressed boundary.
Sure, this is a semantics question, because the outcome is the same – I’m moving out.
