A Star Is Born End

Among the old classic Hollywood movies, this is probably the best. It was filmed from October to December 1936 with a budget exceeding one million US dollars. Janet Gaynor’s portrayal in her final words, “I am Mrs Norman maine” is so inspiring that remakes are made in later years including the 1954 Warner Bros Musical remake. Janet Gaynor portrays a farm girl who makes her way to Hollywood overcoming all obstacles. She marries her favorite cinema star Norman Maine and rise to stardom, only to find that all that glitters is not gold. This is shown in this clip where her husband Norman Maine becomes burdened with alcoholic problems, followed by deteriorating popularity in the movie industry and finally perished in the Malibu in the Pacific Ocean. Janet Gaynor’s poignant presentation in her final words is a landmark in the movie industry.

I already noticed ‘Bridge over troubled water’ as instrumental version from The Shadows, since I’m pretty much a fan of The Shadows… I really liked the track, but didn’t know that it was a cover from Simon & Garfunkel’s song. Untill I spent several weeks in a psychiatric hospital due to some alcoholic problems… yes indeed, my life isn’t that sweet and easy… Back to the point, during a music therapy session someone chose this song to listen to, and I loved it. So, when I got back home I’ve started listening it very often. And than decided to sing it myself, using the Shadows’ cover… but the Shadows’ cover wasn’t exactly like the Simon & Garfunkels version, so I played some extra chords and drums with my keyboard to make it sound more the way I liked it most… Also, I heard an unissued alternative version from Simon & Garfunkel, which had a bit different lyrics… some parts of it I combined with the original version, coming to this result, which I hope you enjoy very much!
