The Law Works – New DUI Laws
Some say alcoholism is a disease. Some say drunkenness is a voluntary condition for which there is no excuse. Whichever view is correct, mixing alcohol with the operation of motor vehicles creates a very dangerous condition which must be controlled.
This is a second take and a second rewrite. There are still several mistakes but I want some opinions! What could I add? Violin? Harmonica? I have the harmony for it and need a lead – Greg or Lenny!! I spoke at an AA mtg last night and this song just came to me later in the evening. Looking at the faces of the “newcomers” that had fear, worry, etc… I remembered my first meeting over 16 years ago and how at that time I would have done ANYTHING to stop the pain! I was sick and tired of being sick and tired! Alcoholism is a disease and can be arrested but never cured. We get a daily reprieve from our Higher Power – One Day At A Time!! I think the lyrics are clear enough so that I am not going to write them down at this time. After our band – Sour Milk – does a final version I may then write them… If you know anyone who is having trouble with booze or drugs and needs help direct them to AA or NA or have them talk to me. I’d be glad to listen.
