Problems With Possible Alcoholism?

Question by cramtime: Problems with possible alcoholism?
Yeah, I’ve been drunk for the past 3 weeks, every single day, some days even twice a day. I’m in fact drunk right now as I am posting this. I’ve been told by quite a few people that I really need to get help, but truthfully, it seems to be the best escape from what’s happening.
I recently came back from Iraq, and I saw some shit there that most people probably couldn’t imagine. I was a hospital guard for the main hospital in Iraq, every injury came through that hospital. Well, I recently had a flashback, probably like 4 or 5 hours ago, and I was crying and all kinds of shit. I, at that point, decided to get drunk, (at that point there were other ulterior motives but that was the main point of me getting drunk was to get it out of my head).
Now, I’ve talked about this and I really have no idea what to do. I’ve talked about this with friends and it really doesn’t help, no matter how much people saying “talking about it will help.” It really doesn’t seem to help whatsoever with the flashbacks that I periodically have.
I’m not really sure what to do at this point. Any ideas?
Tameka, that’s what I’ve been thinking.
Troll attempt–failed. You suck at life.
Be More–I’ll still be drinking socially, but PTSD help does nothing but talk to you about it from what I’ve heard. Talking rdoesnt really seem to help at all.
Oh lol and AA is for quitters, I plan on drinking again, socially or not.
K passing out now, sorry Be More, I gave you a low rating didnt mean to sorry.
K, michelle, before I pass out, [email protected], feel free, thanks

I Give Possible “symptoms”… You Give Answers, Please?

Question by Rain: I give possible “symptoms”… You give answers, please?
So, I’m not asking for some kind of online diagnosis or anything. I would just like some input if this person’s behavior is “normal” or if there could be something wrong with her.
So… Here are possible “symptoms” of some kind of illness:

Not being able to get through one day without thinking about suicide.
Crying usually once a day.
Being very very sensitive to insults… and a lot of the time it’s not even an insult, but just takes things out of context and transforms it into something negative.
Seemingly fine all throughout some days, even happy.
But out of nowhere, very moody.
One little thing can ruin the whole day.
Has a very powerful self loathing-
Especially physically.
Seems to have an attitude like- If I’m not PERFECT or the BEST (or didn’t do something perfectly or the best) than I SUCK. And FAIL at everything.
Pretty much a COMPLETE FAILURE.
Thinks all these things and anyone who compliments is WRONG and DOESN’T know what they’re talking about…
Once again… EXTREMELY moody.
Doesn’t even know what they want.
Extremely indecisive.
Seems to have MULTIPLE views on everything… Kind of almost takes TOO MUCH into consideration.

A Possible and Reasonable Solution to Overpopulation?

Question by justBNmyself: A possible and reasonable solution to Overpopulation?
The Earth’s population is plagued by famines, energy shortages, epidemics, environmental pollution, degeneration, terrorism, dictatorship, anarchism, slavery, excessive increase of waste materials, racial hatred, food shortages, destruction of rain forests, the “greenhouse effect”, pollution of lakes, streams and oceans, hatred towards asylum-seekers; radioactive emissions, chemical pollution of water, air, plants, food, human beings and animals. Crime, murder, mass murders, manslaughter; alcoholism, hatred of strangers, oppression, hatred of one’s fellowman, extremism, sectarianism, drug addiction, overpopulation, annihilation of animal species, war, violence, torture and capital punishment, general mismanagement, water contamination, eradication of plant species; hatred, vice, jealousy, lovelessness, lack of logic, false humanitarianism, lack of housing, increased traffic, destruction of arable land, unemployment, the collapse of health care, the collapse of care for the elderly, destruction of nature, the collapse of solid waste removal, and the lack of living space, among others. In spite of the many efforts, mankind’s problems are not decreasing but, instead, continue to rise steadily in direct proportion to population increases.

How Is It Possible to Absolutely Categorize Alcoholim as a Disease and Not an Illness?

Question by denveryay: How is it possible to absolutely categorize Alcoholim as a disease and not an illness?
“Disease” is a very loosely defined term in many respects. There are multiple disorders, infenctions, and symptoms that can be typical of a definable disease. Also, a disease must have specific and constant cause(s), which in the case of Alcoholism is the CHOICE to drink ethyl-alcohol. The cause of the “disease” is the recurring and disregarding CHOICE to drink. A choice, however pathological or illogical, doesn’t seem to be appropriate as a cause or a condition of any disease. Despite the negative psychological, physiological, and other results of long-term alcohol abuse, it seems that it shouldn’t be classified as anything more than a treatable mental disorder.
