In this country, state sanctioned prejudice, hatred, and segregation was “enforced”right up to 1965, just as slavery once was. Because the law states something is legal or illegal does not make a precedent for what is right or wrong. If you would have told people 50 years ago abortion would be a common form of birth control, and as a ‘right’ is also enforced by the law, however immoral or stupid.
The war on drugs? The war on alcoholism? The war on addiction…when you stop the human being in it’s tracks, and redesign it from the ground up, you might have a chance.
