Q&A: Help Me! What Does It Mean?
Question by Brainiac: Help me! What does it mean?
What does this following sentence mean:
The estate of Crazy Horse and the Rosebud Sioux tribe were appalled;
As much as I try, I can’t understand the meaning of the words ESTATE and APPALLED.
Thw whole sentence is “The estate of Crazy Horse and the Rosebud Sioux tribe were appalled; Crazy Horse was a teetotaler who’d preached abstinence, and the brand seemed to reinforce the idea that Native Americans are prone to alcoholism.”

The first thing I thought of was a house for the word estate and surprised for the word appalled. So basically it means:
The house of Crazy Horse and the Rosebud Sioux tried were surprised..
I think it just means that the two groups were shocked because of what happened.
