The Signs of End Stage Alcoholism

The signs of end stage alcoholism

A lot of people have had to sign off from life due to end stage alcoholism. This stage takes place when the liver in the body will stop functioning completely. A lot of people die at a relatively young age due to end stage alcoholism. But people, who are completely aware of the detrimental effect which alcohol has on their health, find it difficult to give up their emotional dependency on alcohol and they find it difficult to survive without drinking everyday.

The liver is the main part of the body which suffers during end stage alcoholism. A fatty liver is created using the fat which gets accumulated inside the cells of the liver. Cirrhosis of the liver is another condition which can be noticed in most people who are alcoholics who have reached the final stages in their life. People who have chronic alcoholics for a time period which lasts for more than ten years are likely to suffer from cirrhosis of the liver. The healthy tissues of the liver will be replaced by tissues which are completely damaged and scarred. This will prevent the normal supply of the required amount of blood for the liver. This will ensure that the liver does not function in the right manner.

The symptoms of cirrhosis of the liver will not be detected in a very easy manner. As time goes, the person who is an alcoholic will start feeling tired quite often and he will also start experiencing very severe pain in the abdominal area of the body apart from a complete loss of hunger. The blood vessels of the skin will start looking like spiders. Jaundice is also another condition which will be experienced by people who are in the last stages of their life as an alcoholic. The skin and the eyes will start turning yellow since the liver does not have the capacity to absorb the right amount of bilirubin.
