Psychiatrist Is Saying My Past Abuse Is Not Real?
Question by Angelface: Psychiatrist is saying my past abuse is not real?
Every time I bring it up it is considered a “symptom” of a mental illness.
I was abused when I was younger I have no idea why he is trying to tell me it didn’t happen?!

Was this the first doctor to tell you this? If so, consider a change of doctors.
However, if you have been told this by multiple doctors, then you need to ask they what their reasoning is. Are they seeing something you do not? I have seen situations in which a person can “remember” details of an event which never happened. Memory is not always accurate -just ask someone with dementia.
