Q&A: Is There a Logical Reason These Are “sins”, Not Just Because “God Says So” or “the Bible Says So”?
Question by Joshua: Is there a logical reason these are “sins”, not just because “God says so” or “The bible says so”?
1 Sex before marriage and using birth control. There is nothing harmful about having sex before marriage, unless you don’t use protection.
2 Gambling, there are plenty of people who can gamble responsibly, in fact do it well enough to make a living. Not everyone gets addicted to it just like not everyone gets addicted to liquor.
3. Not drinking to get drunk. Why the hell are you drinking then? How can you enjoy alcohol if your not drinking enough to get drunk. There are plenty of people who can drink responsibly and not become alcoholics. I’m one of them, I get drunk maybe once a month at Hooters, I’m not an “alcoholic” I just think like to relax once a month. I don’t drink when I’m home, and I always call a taxi or girlfriend to take me home.
4. Coveting or jealousy. Again it doesn’t hurt anyone, and it’s human nature to want what someone else has. The grass is always greener.
And PLEASE no bible answers, “God says so” or “The bible says so”
isn’t a logical answer.
