Question by C: What is the significance of abuse as a part of native identity?
I have to write an essay discussing this topic (with examples from The Rez Sisters) and I’m having trouble starting it.
My argument was supposed to be that physical, sexual, and emotional abuse negatively affected Aboriginal culture, making native identity what it is today (Depression, poverty, struggle with alcoholism, etc). Does this discuss the SIGNIFICANCE of abuse as a part of native identity or does this just discuss how abuse negatively affected native identity (<--is that significance of abuse then)? (This week has been too stressful and I'm starting to confuse myself.....) Best answer:
