Alcoholics Anonymous and the American Medical Association claim that addictions to alcohol and other drugs is a disease. Just the other day, I was found drunk in public and arrested and taken to jail. Today, I was arraigned in court and, in defense, I told the judge that my drunken behaviour was a symptom of my “disease”; and I am was powerless over my disease. The judge slammed his gavel and said, “30 days in jail!”
So much for the disease concept of drug addiction!
Maybe Jesus or an AA doorknob will save me.
