Survey: Substance abuse down in past three years among students

When the survey was given in May, 38.8 percent of 10th-graders and 39.8 percent of 12th-graders said they used alcohol in the past 30 days. About 32 percent of 10th-graders and 33.5 percent of 12th-graders said they had used tobacco in the past month.
