And it was a challenging and frightening thing to do for me, as I am getting totally honest and present myself in a vulnerable state of mind. I am an Alcoholic. I used to drink alcohol on a daily base, and I used to drink A LOT of it at every weekend. I abused the alcohol up to a point when it was affecting me in a bad way. The reason why I am sharing all of this so openly is that I want to help people out there to see that they are not alone. And also to show people out there, that something can be done about it. The good news – actually the VERY good news is- that I am a dry alcoholic. I am a dry alcoholic …. right now! I feel that this addiction is something that will be with me for the rest of my life. So, I am not over the hump. Never will be! If you have been an addict one time in your life, you ALWAYS will be one. And it is good to remind me of that fact, to stay on the edge. It has been almost 4 years now since I touched a zip of alcohol now, and I have the intention to never, ever drink again in my whole life. I am very proud of this fact, and I am very proud of it towards myself. I do not care so much what you (or everybody for that matter) thinks about it. I know I can do it, I know I have been doing it right for the last years, and that makes me feel good. If I am happy for anybody, than it is first and for all for my children, and then for Katie.
