Question for Church of Christ/Christian Church People: Why Grape Juice?

Question by xomprehensabllble: Question for Church of Christ/Christian Church people: why grape juice?
You teach that people who baptize by any means but immersion are lost because the Greek baptidzo means immerse and only immerse, and they are not following “the plan” of the New Testament. But you use grape juice in communion when the Greek oinos means wine and only wine. What gives? If you can substitute Welch’s for wine, why can’t someone else substitute pouring for immersing?

And if you tell me there is not NT example of someone pouring, show me a NT example of someone using grape juice, okay?

Oh, and that “out of consideration for recovering alcoholics” thing, plenty of people are deathly afraid of water–any consideration for them?
