AA constitutes a religious system. they believe and talk about God, they pray, they have a creed, AA is their bible, and they fellowship in a church-like setting.
the purpose is not to turn you away from alcoholism per se, but to turn you toward God in the hope that through AA you will find religion and, in turn, resist alcohol.
is this manipulative to take advantage of people struggling with life (including various forms of “addictions,” many “mental illnesses,” and conditions such as “codependency”) and focus their addictive behavior on Christianity?
