My heart on my sleeve – this second take is the full version – I hope… It is to my daughter Patricia Moriah Wise whom I have not seen since she was about 8 month’s old due to my addictions. I became “Clean and Sober” in June of 1994 and have been in recovery since. I consider myself a Recovered Addict / Alcoholic for through my Higher Power I am given a “daily reprieve” – it is not a “cure” but I am sober One Day At a Time…” My prayer is that this song goes out through cyber-space and finds her ears and that she listen to the whole song. I have sent many letters in the past but received no response. Her mother (before she passed …) was hoping we would re-unite and at least be able to communicate on some level. Even her grandmother Pat was hoping the same. This is a long story and what is wild is after I got Clean and Sober my son DJ and I were living here in Butler PA and my son took an algebra class at the local community college. Well in that class was my AA sponsor – Jim Wise (no relation…), my son David J Wise – and the professor said “we have three wises and the third was ‘Trish… I thought for sure this was God working but she would not hear what my son tried to tell her – that I was a different person – and eventually she would not even talk to him… She has good reason to be bitter. But I am asking her forgiveness. Not anything else…
