Please only answer this question if you had at least a year of “sobriety” please be honest about your experience. did you take a little, and drink less violently or more pleasantly? was it true “you pick off where you left off?” do you think AA is a brainwashing cult? actually all opinions appreciated thanks

AA meetings aren’t for everyone, but that doesn’t mean don’t go. Yes some if not all relapse. But YOU have to be determined not to relapse, YOU have to be the one to look forward and not back. AA is not a brainwashing cult, they just help people who want to be helped. But it’s mainly up to you to decide “do I want to go back to all of that? Or do I want to live sober everyday? Do I want to be happy?” You don’t necessarily “pick off where you left off” that’s all your decision, you have to want to start over on a clean slate.
