What Is a Drug/Alcohol Assessment Like?

Question by brian: What is a Drug/Alcohol assessment like?
Ok I was arrested last year and charged with possession of alcohol and trespassing. Im 18 years old by the way. And the court put me on a diversion program and told me i have to go to a Drug/Alcohol assessment clinic or whatever, basically counseling. Can anyone give me information about what these are like. I do not understand why I was put on it because I never drank any alcohol and I personally do not have a problem with it. But can someone give me some details about what this will be like? questions they will ask? etc… Im hoping they realize i do not have an alcohol addiction or anything because its $ 60 per hour and honestly i do not see how this is going to help me “alcoholic problem” that doesnt exist. Thanks!

Aolt of questions regarding drug/alcohol history will be asked to determine to what extent you may need treatment. $ 60 an hour is alot to pay, that would be what you would pay per session depending on the result of the assessment. i believe the fewest amount of sessions is 13 1hr a week classes.
