I have a Dad….well….kinda….my dad is an alcoholic with anger control issues. He is always trying to retaliate at me…only, I can’t figure out what I’ve done to be retaliated at. He is only happy with me if I am totally dependent on him and he can “help” me….like if I am sick, he is in an especially good mood, but once I’m well enough to be independent, we are like strangers until the next time he is angry. He tells me he loves me, but I don’t think he means it because of the way he acts around me when he’s not wanting something. I feel used and alone…all I want is a Dad who will show me what a Dad is supposed to be…today my friends told me (they work at the local store) that he really creeps them out, too….
Dads….would you ever do this to your kids? And also…how do you feel about them, do you love them? What do you think of my Dad? What should a Dad be like?

PSS!!! In reply to my first answerer…he has told me he will not provide for me anymore…I am 17….so there!

have you ever thought he gets angry because you do things to make him that way? why do kids always comwe in here and complain their parents are always wrong and picking on them?
i assume he pays for all your food and the roof over your head?how bad is he for doing that?
