A person is never cured of alcoholism. It’s kind of like having diabetes and keeping it under great control. If you have too much sugar, or in the alcoholic’s case, alcohol, the problems will reappear.

The good news is, a person who stays sober for 30 years has a better take on sobriety. They might actually be able to stay sober without ever taking another drink, or they might roll off the deep end, and go on a binge that doesnt end. It depends a lot on the person’s attitude, stress levels, and goals.

Good luck!
