Pastor Mwangi Kuria the pastor of Kibera GOA church. The church was started on May 4, last year 2008 with a two families. To date the Lord has been very gracious the church have grown to 10 families. The church started a nursery school aimed at providing education to the many children in Kibera who have no where to go to school. Currently the school has 42 children. To these children is like home or better. This is because most of them come from broken alcoholic families where they experience hunger, poverty and violence. For example during Kenya’s post election violence, Kibera was the worst hit and during that time the children witnessed people being slashed to death, maimed and their ”homes” being burnt. Many are still traumatized. Sometimes this shanty homes catch fire and children are burnt alive as it usually happens.
