Question by Jessica B: Can emotional restlessness or distress be symptom of adult ADHD?
I was diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago, but I havent made the connection to my emotional restlessness and ADHD. I read a few articles on adult ADHD and saw that that can be a symptom. I have racing thoughts, i look for emotional intensity as a means for excitement, and suffer from insecurity and low self esteem. I thought these were completely seperate from ADHD but other information is telling me different, has anyone else had ADHD and found emotional symptoms to be intertwined with it? Or are these emotional symptoms seperate and not apart of ADHD?

The psychiatrist who identified attention deficit disorder – the condition blamed for the bad behaviour of hundreds of thousands of children – has admitted that many may not really be ill. Dr Robert Spitzer said that youngsters classified as suffering from disruptive and hyperactive conditions could have been misdiagnosed. They may simply be showing perfectly normal signs of being happy or sad, he said. ‘Many of these conditions might be normal reactions which are not really disorders,’ he continued.

Dr Spitzer developed the bible of mental disorder classification in the 1970s and 1980s, which identified dozens of new conditions including ADD and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Since then hundreds of thousands of children have been diagnosed with ADD, a behavioural disorder linked to poor attention span, and ADHD, which adds an element of hyperactivity.

When parents/you have a bad past/rejection/father gone it lets other things start. Controlling others, ADHD,Depression, cutting, bullying, low self esteem,OCD, anxiety, panic attacks, hearing voices can all come from a tramautic past. Its opens doors to the negative and it can lead to a spiritual attack.

Negative people and abuse brings spiritual problems so praying to get rid of negative things of a spiritual nature is often needed after years of abuse. Its not you its them. If present they need to be told to leave in Jesus name.

Psychiatry is not based on science but is merely an opinion. There are no blood tests done to help docs. They are just guessing.
