Can an Alcoholic Parent Affect the Child?
Question by pinkbubblegum: can an alcoholic parent affect the child?
My dad was alcoholic even before I was born. He wasn’t abusive but he wasn’t in good terms with my mom and I was always afraid that he was gonna hurt her. One time he came home and
he started looking for knife and said he was gonna hurt her. Other times
he said he was gonna kill himself and I believed him. He would come home rlly late
every other night and wake us up cuz he’s loud. I don’t live with him anymore but I can be very insecure and I’m kind of shy even though I try not to be. Do you think it’s cuz of him? I know some people don’t think it’s a big deal cuz he didn’t beat us up or anything but I went through so much and my mom has really high expectations of me.I’m like a only hope
to her.
