What Is an “Accidental Overdose of Prescription Drugs”?
Question by : What is an “accidental overdose of prescription drugs”?
With all the autopsy reports that are published following celebrity deaths none has ever been released for comedian Greg Giraldo. Granted he was not very famous, having done just a few celebrity roasts on Cmedy Central. Nevertheless he was a sort of celebrity. When he died in September, 2010 in New Jersey, the media stated he died from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. It was mentioned again and again that it was NOT a suicide attempt. Since Giraldo was discovered unconscipous and died five days later, never regaining consciousness, it seems like it could have been an attempt to hide a sucide to save embarrassment or other reasons.
How does a 44 year old man die from an “accidental overdose of prescription drugs”? If someone forgets they took their heart pill or their sleeping pill and takes ANOTHER ONE by mistake, would that KILL THEM? The fact that there has never been an official autopsy report nor toxicology report made public coupled with the emphatic denial of a possible suicide say to me that something was not quite right.
Would an accidental overdose KILL an otherwise healthy 44 year old? How?
Since he was an alcoholic and drug user, why do you suspect the media immediately said it was not a suicide? He certainly COULD have tried to kill himself. We know pills and booze don’t mix well.

I know a young girl (20s) who died because she was mixing her migraine meds- literally went to sleep at night and didn’t wake up. It is possible for different meds not to mix well, and then yes of course the alcohol makes it that much more intense too.
