Parents of Alcoholics: Is There Really a Genetic Predisposition for Alcoholism?

Question by not a boy: is there really a genetic predisposition for alcoholism?
so i’m starting to drink on a regular basis. nothing excesive at this point. anyway, my dad was a bit of an alcholic and one of my close friends is constantly warning me that i have a hire risk of becoming one myself if i start/keep drinking. is he right?

ABSOLUTLY!!!!!! Children of alcholics are 45% more likely to become one themselves. Sorry but its true…. stop while you can,
