My Friend Is Hypochondriac and It’s Starting to Bug Me?

Question by Angie: My friend is hypochondriac and it’s starting to bug me?
She already sees a therapist, so why not receive helpfor this? A few days ago, she came on Facebook and told me she thinks she has cancer and was going to get blood drawn at the hospital.
I was terrified and on the verge of crying because it sounded so serious. When she came back, she acted totally normal. I told her how she was coping with such a possibility and she was just like “I don’t think it’s cancer. I think I have malaria now. I have a lot of the symptoms.” It really is starting to drive me insane. Not only does she do this to herself, she tells me I show symptoms of having some weird disease. She also did this with a mental disorder and told me I had an eating disorder and was depressed, whilst I am neither!
I feel like every time she says she might have a disease that I just want to tell her she does and make her freak out because it’s seriously annoying me, but I get it’s a real disorder and she needs help for it, but I can’t take it anymore! It worries me every time she says there’s a possibility she has a disease!
