were reading “we real cool” by gwendolyn brooks in my english class. this is it: “We real cool. We left school.We lurk late. we strike straight.we sing sin. we thin gin. we jazz june. we die soon.” immediately after reading it i felt there was a bigger meaning behind the simple words. dont you? tell me what you think?

It sounds like the people are in a gang and they leave school go do bad stuff then get killed at a young age. That’s what I took from it
