How to Convince Your Mom That Your Brother Has Bipolar Disorder?
Question by finity023: How to convince your mom that your brother has bipolar disorder?
Okay so i’m pretty sure that my brother has bipolar disorder. Not sure what stage or level he is at but he definetly has it. Two weeks ago I told my mom about it and she was like yeah totally. So she was going to call her friend who’s daughter also has a personality disorder about it to see how we could get him to the doctor about it without letting him know. Knowing that people with disorders refuse to go to the doctors. He has many of the symptoms of it. The main ones are compulsive lying, lies about everything to make him seem better than everyone else in the whole school. Gets ticked off of the littlest things. Like my little brother not sitting right, he starts screaming at him out of nowhere to sit correctly. The most recent thing is lying to my mom about getting into a college but he didn’t, so my mom is trying to get him to apply to another college since “he’s too smart for community college” and he starts yelling at my mom to the point where she’s crying. Unless you know another disorder this may be. But yeah I want to know a way to get her to bring him to the doctor. Plus how can we regulate how he takes his medication when he’s away at college. Could we let the college nurse know and let her take care of it makes sure that she sees him take the medication? Thanks! Please don’t be rude about it since this is serious. This is breaking our family down. There are days when I have to lock my room door and stay in it all day. To keep him from forcing my door down I have to move my sofa to block the opening of my door. Just please please help me! I will answer your questions if need be.
Bob are you serious? This is really important to me. I can’t find anything else on the internet about this.
Thanks! He is not 18 yet. He is getting a yearly checkup soon so could she bring it up then to the doctor?
