Alcohol Abuse on Teenagers: Teenagers…. Thoughts Please? 10 Points?

Question by Stacy: Teenagers…. Thoughts please? 10 points?
Teenagers are obviously messed up these days (not all of them.) actually, I’m a teenager but so many people I know bother me!
Okay so there is 3 types of parents kind of.
1) they don’t care what their child does and says “oh they’re just teenagers! ” and stuff
2) they spanked their kids when they were younger (even as a last resort) and it just causes them to rebel, hit other kids…and leads to depression and alcohol abuse :(
3) a good mix
How come there is so little of the third type of parent???

Also no answers about “oh it’s okay to spank kids…I don’t care if they get depressed and drink alcohol before they move out”
Okay your misunderstanding the question. I HATE parents who don’t punish they’re kids! And I really hope some of you guys don’t have kids… I feel for them.
And yes. Studies show being spanked leads to alcohol abuse. Obviously, not all people who were spanked are drunks, but there is proof.

Also, everybody I know who was spanked (other than my mom) steals from people’s car and vandalizes people’s property. I’m not trying to say bad things about you if you were spanked. But seriously?!?

I’m not stupid. I’m actually very smart…I was voted smartest kid in junior year and a PhD in astrophysics. I was poor when I was a kid but I made smart choices and now am doing pretty well.

I guess a lot of parents find it hard to get the balance right. Also the parents tend to parent the way their parents did.
