Were there times when his drinking interfered with his work? Did he have health consequences because of it?
Such good answers, thanks. I found it interesting that when he first came to America (during Prohibition) he came with a prescription for alcohol from his physician, so that he could bring alcohol with him. BTW, in no way did I want to imply anything bad or to judge the man. I think he was tremendous and I admire him very much.
