Walkin’ Eddie (Part 1) – – Walking Eddie, Hodgenville, Kentucky

A short film about the effects of war, alcoholism, and religion on rural communities. Set in Hodgenville, Kentucky, the film focuses on the self-effacing, recurring, day-long journey of a shell-shocked veteran known simply to the people of his town as Walkin’ Eddie. Even though this film is fictionalized, Walkin’ Eddie was a real man. He passed away in February of 2004. This film was shot on a cheap VHS-C camera and edited on PC using Pinnacle Studio Pro. All music is original and was recorded on a BOSS digital 8-track recorder. Editing was done in Sony Acid Pro. The film appears darker and smudgier than the original; also, the frame rate is lower. This is because the resolution and bit rate had to be lowered considerably so as to fit within the small file size restriction of YouTube.
