Wyola School and Strength in Number
Created for First Peoples Center for Education (FPCFE) who do work with the Crow Nation in Montana. It tells tells the story of how FPCFE works with tribal schools to enable their teachers to teach math to kids who are disadvantaged by poverty. Indian reservations usually have very high rates of alcoholism, abuse and other emotional/medical issues. Math scores on the reservation are also low compared to the national average and norm. FPCFE has raised the 4th grade mathematics proficiency scores from well below the national average to just below the national average in years.
