My on/off bf or two years was in a major accident 2 days before christmas and was released from the trauma unit with a broken back, broken arm and almost severed finger, only to return to the “home” of his drug addict/alcoholic and his drinking buddies. I offerred for him to stay with me, but the first night “home” he chose to go there. I have stopped talking with him as of day before yesterday. Have i done the right thing?
he was a passenger in this vehicle and had a BAC of .38. in the past 3 months he had been evicted from his home, lost his job, and been running with riff-raff. the other three in the car were all underage and drinking and stoned as well. the day he was released he called someone else, whom i have no idea who, to pick him up, and where he went i can only assume. he told me the nite before he was discharged he wanted to go there to do laundry, get his meds, see everyone and let them know what he was going to be doing (since i won’t allow the riff-raff in my home.), etc. and then he would come to my place the following day. lots of excuses. i told him no.

Yes you’ve done the right thing. He needs to learn that doing what his doing is going to mean loosing you and if he loves you then he will stop and see sense. If he doesn’t then you’re better off without him and you deserve better :)
