Hey so disclaimer — I am not a recovering alcoholic :) I’ve had people hearing this song come tell me they are and ask that :) I actually wrote this song inspired by the experiences of many close friends over the years. But know that when I write songs there are ALWAYS two layers — a literal and a metaphoric one. But in this case, I am actually interacting with a few people in recovery and talking to them made me think about this. I’m especially mindful of a friend who just starting taking Antabuse (google it!) to help her through a tough time without leaning on alcohol.
