In 2008, Alberta Watson joined the cast of CBC’s popular show THE BORDER as a recurring guest star. She played Susanne Fleischer, a government MP (the Minister of Public Safety) and recovering alcoholic. Fleischer is an ex-Canadian soldier who had served with ex-lover Mike Kessler (the Head of the Toronto-based Immigrations and Customs Security, played by James McGowan) in various Bosnian peacekeeping operations.
