Could I Have Some Kind of Anaemia?
Question by stuart: Could I have some kind of Anaemia?
The first time this “problem” happened was just over a year ago. I had been drinking alcohol the day before and at around midday I suddenly started to feel unwell. I got heart palpitations, I felt weak and ill and I lost all the colour in my face and the people I was with said I looked visibly ill. After about 5-6 hours I suddenly started to feel better, more energetic. I didn’t go to the docs. Since this happened I have had these kind of attacks on and off. I have been forced to cut back on my alcohol intake a lot as a result of this as it seems to trigger it sometimes. Generally its an uncomfortable feeling in my chest and I just dont feel well. I also get heart palpitations at night sometimes. The symptoms have evolved recently to a tight feeling in my chest which can last for hours at a time. This prompted me to go to the doctor and he said he didn’t think it was likely that the problem was cardiac (I am 29) and so I had a blood test for thyroid disorders which came back as fine. I have also had a 24 hour heart monitor to record any palpitations, I did manage to catch one when I woke up in the early hours with one. I have started to feel more tired recently. I am going back to the docs tomorrow, should I ask him about the possibility of anaemia and get tested for it? Is there anything else that this could be that I should suggest to the doctor. He diagnosed me with an inflammation of the lining of my lungs which doesn’t really explain all the symptoms at all
