Medical Professional Answers Needed: Does a “cold” Tummy Cause Problems?

Question by Shiningami_Gurl: Medical Professional answers needed: Does a “cold” tummy cause problems?
He tells me that I am stupid if I just tell the doctor the symptoms and none of the ‘things that caused it’ because then the doctor would get the “diagnosis” wrong!! While I on the other hand believe that the doctor should ACTUALLY do his job and examine a patient, test, gather all the information and rely on his medical training to make the diagnosis. To rely on a lay person to diagnose themselves basically is plain BAD MEDICINE.

Everyone here seems to think that drinking cold drinks, cold air on your stomach and not wearing enough clothes is going to make your stomach sick…while I claim it’s the poor sanitation, the fact that they don’t refrigerate their meats or worse still they leave food out for a week and still eat it.
Ok I live in China and my hubby is Chinese and we are getting into a BIG fight over this at the moment. Our 1yr old daughter woke up vomiting, gagging, drenched in sweat and just not her perky self. He insists that it’s because she kicked off her covers and that gave her a stomach ache. He also tells me that if we go to the doctors that once he explains to the doctor that she slept without blankets- the doctor will agree with him and simply say nothing is wrong.
Bottom section should have been at the top of the question..sorry got confused

Hahahaha!! But you’re wrong…these quack doctors ACTUALLY THINK THAT COLD CAUSES TUMMY ACHES!!!! We are the only one’s that seem to see that it doesn’t work that way! They don’t even do well check ups here at all…telling us that there is nothing to check unless she’s sick and they don’t actually touch her to diagnose, they just ask US QUESTIONS!!

KICKING OFF YOUR BLANKETS DOES NOT CAUSE A STOMACH ACHE OR VOMITING OR ANY OF THE ABOVE THAT U NAMED!!!…i dont know if things are different in china but here like u said its bacteria or a virus that she somehow got either from someone who was sick or someone who carried the virus or bacteria on them and touch something she could have touched…or even in the air the bacteria or airbourne virus could have been in the air….go to the doctor i bet they will agree with u and not ur husband!
