Domestic Violence When Living With an Alcoholic

Domestic Violence When Living With an Alcoholic

If you live with an alcoholic, you may live with domestic violence as well. Many people that drink can become violent if they get upset. This might not be the case for some, but when a person drinks, it changes how they think. The sad thing about domestic violence where an alcoholic is concerned is that they may never display this type of behavior when they are not drinking. However, even the mildest mannered person can show signs of an entirely different person when drinking. You have to walk on eggshells when you live with someone that drinks.

The first time you are hit, may be the only time for a while, but you cannot let your guard down ever. The apologies and kindness that follows may be comforting. Nevertheless, what happens the next time the alcoholic gets angry? You could be the fault of this as well. Sometimes you do not even have to be the root of the anger and you will still be the one that is abused. Domestic violence that continues will mean that other steps must be taken.

Florida Boating Accidents Can Be Avoided With A Boater’s Safety Course

The United States Coast Guard 2008 report on Florida boating accidents shows 616 accidents of which 50 accidents involved fatalities that killed 55 people. In addition, there were 371 non-fatal injuries and over million dollars worth of damage due to boating accidents. 106 of these accidents involved collision with a fixed object, 20 from striking a submerged object, and 190 were due to collision with another vessel. 25 people were forcibly ejected from their boat and 45 people were injured falling overboard. Across the country, over two-thirds of boating fatalities were due to drowning and 90% of the drowning victims were not wearing life jackets.

The primary causes of the accidents, injuries and property damage are operator inattention, careless or reckless operation, no proper lookout, operator inexperience, and passenger or skier behavior. Many accidents also involve consumption of alcohol. In fact, alcohol was a leading contributing factor in 17% of the boating fatalities in 2008.

Family Involvement With Addiction

Family Involvement With Addiction

Your family probably already knows you have a drug addiction. If they don’t, admitting your dependence to them is a crucial step towards recovery. Sit them down and be as honest with them as you have been with yourself. It probably won’t be fun and it most likely won’t be pretty, but as soon as you have that off of your chest, you’ll be free to start pursuing your goal of being drug-free.

Tell your family members that you want their support in your endeavor and that it’s important for you to know that you can count on them to give that support. If they don’t, just accept it and move on yourself. Some people just can’t be that strong, but if you are sincere in your request, they will most likely be as supportive as you need them to be.

In a recent issue of the Annals of Internal Medicine, researchers found that Ketek (telithromycin), the antibiotic that treats upper respiratory infections, may be linked to more than just liver disease but may also be responsible for the development of hepatitis.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Ketek from Sanofi-Aventis in 2004 to treat the following illnesses:

* acute bacterial infections

* chronic bronchitis

* acute bacterial sinusitis

* community-acquired pneumonia

Unfortunately, the drug was recently linked to severe liver failure and liver disease development among patients, however, because it also caused a case of drug-induced hepatitis, it may be critical for scientists and medical professionals to look further into the development of hepatitis as a potential side effect as well.

Spiritual attachments. They can create pain so intense it can make a person crazy even though they don’t set out to harm.
