What Does The Aftercare In The Alcohol Treatment Program In Georgia Contain?
The addiction treatment program is probably the most important phase in the program. The detoxification treatment is important as well as it helps to remove the toxins from the body which have been grained in the body due to many years of alcohol consumption. But the detoxification process is only flushing of toxins. It cleans the body, but the cleansing of mind is also important because the mind is where the temptations start. The aftercare in the alcohol treatment program in Georgia is where the patient goes through an elaborate counseling session to comprehend the grave dangers of the life dependent on alcohol; and how is it he can avoid it by learning to control his temptations for alcohol.
Alcohol addiction is a progressive disease and the chances of it relapsing even after an extensive treatment, is very high. Therefore the after care is a very crucial phase for the patient.

Captured
It is important to understand that a person suffering from addiction is essentially captured by the mental addictive forces inside. They feel conflicting emotions and have conflicting thoughts about their problem. In an addict’s private moments of despair he knows that he needs help, but the addicted part of him regains control and the thoughts change. He says to himself “I don’t need help, I don’t need to change. I can beat this thing, anyway everybody is making too much of all this – it’s not that bad.” He might even be saying “Oh yes I know I need help but I will do it my way.” And we watch and wait while he has worsening failed lunges at ‘doing it his way’.

I Wont Marry an Alcoholic. What Can I Do to Help?
Question by Barbz: I wont marry an alcoholic. What can I do to help?
My “about to be husband” has a family history of alcohol and drug abuse. For 3 years now I have sat by and watched him drink a 12 pack daily and smoke weed. I have nothing against smoking week every once in awhile (i’m allergic to T.H.C. so I don’t smoke) or drinking a beer or two a night. But it’s got to the point where I feel he’s unhappy if he doesn’t drink or smoke. And I have to compete with those two substances. We are supose to get married in September but last night I told him that I was going to leave him if he didn’t get help, because I can’t see a good and happy future with an alcoholic. And I’m not going to risk my future for someone that wants to throw his away.
Q&A: What Level of Contact Should I Have With an Alcoholic Boyfriend if He Is Going to Jail for Assault & DWI?
Question by AllieAllieOops: What level of contact should I have with an alcoholic boyfriend if he is going to jail for assault & DWI?
*****Please don’t read this if you will be judgemental, I am looking for solid, intelligent advice, perhaps from people who have dealt with violent alcoholics before. ******
Here’s what happened: My boyfriend that lives with me got extremely drunk Friday night and beat me very violently while I was driving my car with my 8 month old daughter (not his) in the backseat, and then drove his car away when I got him back to his car. I called the cops because I was scared of him coming back and being more violent, and when they found him he obviously also got arrested for DWI, and also has a charge for endangering the welfare of a minor because my daughter was in the backseat when he was hitting me and that could have caused an accident, and pending charges for a hit and run because his car was damaged, if they can figure out what he hit.

What Does “No Food or Drink” Mean to You?
Question by Justbenice: What does “No Food or Drink” mean to you?
Being a student, I have also worked as a Lab monitor, and I often see my fellow mates, bringing in “Food and drinks(non alcoholic)” to the Lab. Rarely someone really adheres to the many “No Food or Drinks” signs posted in the Lab. Does “No food and drink” really make you hungry and thirsty?
