So I have a friend. Her mom and dad spilt several times while she was growing up, when she was a toddler her mom kicked her dad out of the house when she caught him doing cocaine in the washroom. Her dad is also an alcoholic, and doesn’t pay child support. She’s now 17 and has had to take on tons of responsibility pretty much raising her brother. Her mom works, but doesn’t clean the house or do any chores, my friend does. When i hear her talking to her mother it’s like SHE is the mother, and her mom is the child. “What do you want to eat for dinner? Can you pre-heat the oven please?” I catch glimpses of her home life and realize how drastically different it is to mine. Her little brother is currently 10 and he is given way to much freedom. He doesn’t have a bed time, and has unlimited internet access. He was recently suspended from school for bringing a knife and threatening another kid who was bullying him.

Complicated Work Comp Case Basic Overview:

A friend of mine has found himself in a horrible situation after 1 year of Work Comp case proceedings. The following facts are pertinent to his specific situation:

Employment History:
1. Employed with employer 20+ years
2. Almost no Disciplinary or problems with employer until Company recently merged with another company and has since become “Self Insured”.
3. Company began making constant demands for employee to sign “At Will” and “Acknowledgment” there of documents.
4. Employee got first write up in 20 years and asked to sign “at will” at the time of write up. Upon refusal to do so due to the contract stating that he was to carefully consider what he was signing, he was forced to a new machine for “training purposes” that of which he initially believed a prior injury may had been exacerbated due to repetitive motion of his wrist.
