Choose From the Different Adolescent Alcohol Treatment Programs
Choose From The Different Adolescent Alcohol Treatment Programs
Alcohol abuse is the excessive and repeated drinking of alcoholic beverages either on individual occasions or on a regular basis. This problem is especially disturbing for parents after research studies showed that abusive drinking for teenagers is increasing every year despite strict implementation of underage drinking laws.
Therefore, it is not surprising the number of teenagers being entered by their parents in adolescent alcohol treatment programs are increasing every year. If you have already determined that your teenage daughter or son has a drinking problem that needs to be treated, you can take him or her to a professional expert that will give you some advice for the best form of treatment program.
The adolescent alcohol treatment programs are usually in two forms – the inpatient and outpatient programs. The outpatient adolescent alcohol addiction program usually consists of multidimensional approaches, which include cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy, positive reinforcement, and the 12-step program.
Children Learn From Their Parents
Children Learn From Their Parents
You may have hear the idea that children learn from their parents. Well, it’s true. Children are like little sponges. They absorb everything we tell them. For example, if a parent curses around their child, they shouldn’t be surprised to hear their child repeat the foul word a few days later. The same thinking applies when it comes to drug and alcohol use and abuse.
It is almost a sure fact that a child who grows up in a household where drugs and alcohol are abused will then grow up and become a drug or alcohol addict OR they will turn into physical abusers. This is why it is so important to start now to teach our children the difference between right and wrong. Doing drugs is always a bad thing no matter which way you slice it. Alcohol, on the other hand, is a different story. It is one thing to have the occasional glass of wine with dinner; but when that glass of wine turns into a couple of bottles of wine- or that mixed drink turns into a night of drinking….well, you get the idea.

DUI Classes: From Start to End
DUI Classes: From Start to End
Attending DUI classes may be terrible for you considering the time you would have to spend for it when you should be making money, the fees and expenses which you have to deal with or even just the kind of classmates that you will be with in these classes. You might even think of it as an added price to pay for your alcoholism. But it’s the court order! In this case, there’s no truly better way ahead but an earnest acceptance of the court order. You may not realize the value of these classes for now but in the long run, you will thank the court, your DUI teachers and even your good DUI classmates for helping you overcome DUI and regain that good driving behavior you may have had before. But for the more important part, these classes can help you build a resistance to the temptations of alcohol most especially when you are aware that you still need to drive.
My Wife Has Forbidden Me From Seeing My Gay Best Friend, What Should a Christian Man’s Reaction Be?
Question by : My wife has forbidden me from seeing my gay best friend, what should a Christian man’s reaction be?
First of all, I am not even going to lie! When my gay best friend Raymond is in town we get c-r-a-z-y! We usually shop till we drop, then we put on our tight jeans and V-neck t-shirts and head downtown to dance to electronic music all night long! And I admit, when Ray-Ray is around, I can get a little “catty.”
That said, I don’t think it is fair that my wife has forbidden me from associating with Ray-Ray. Before I married my wife, she and Ray-Ray were the best of friends (in fact, I used to get a bit jealous of Ray-Ray for spending so much time with my girl! – they are both French and share of love of fine wines), but now she says Ray-Ray is a “bad influence on the family,” and “an alcoholic.”
