An alcoholic definition may vary from person to person but all are similar in describing a person that abuses alcohol. In this article I am going to give you an alcoholic definition and some of the effects of alcohol on persons that abuse it.

Alcoholism, also known as alcohol dependence, is a disabling addictive disorder. It is characterized by compulsive and uncontrolled consumption of alcohol despite its negative effects on the drinker’s health, relationships, and social standing. Every person acts differently from the effects of alcohol. That is why a certain person can take one drink and set the glass down and another person will have a drink and be unable to stop drinking until they pass out.
