Drug and Alcohol Treatment Approach at Duffy’s a Recovery Leader Since 1967

Drug and Alcohol Treatment Approach at Duffy’s a Recovery Leader since 1967

What is Duffy’s approach to treatment and guests? How are we different from other alcohol or drug treatment centers? Former guests and counselors explain about how Duffy’s is passionate about sharing hope and help to those in need. TRANSCRIPT: Since 1967, Duffy’s Napa Valley has been committed to bringing quality, compassionate treatment to those addicted to drugs or alcohol. Duffy’s is a family business, and prides itself in treating its guests as family, not patients. Patrick: What I know about Gene Duffy is he was absolutely passionate about helping alcoholics and addicts who are suffering. Shelly: We see people who come in who are 90 pounds, emaciated; this is the last stop before they are in a coffin. Andrew: There’s a saying in the program, “There are three ends for an alcoholic, jails, institutions, and death,” and I realized I had been to jail, I was in an institution, and had a very near-death experience. I had absolutely no idea what to expect form rehab at all; I had a lot of apprehension, but I just figured, “I can go through the emotions.” Gayle: When people come to treatment, not all of them want to be here; they’re very, very nervous and scared. Mike: As a family business, we look at the guests who come through the programs here at Duffy’s as really part of our extended family. We want to make sure that everybody that we treat here at Duffy’s is treated with that same dignity and respect that we would a family member. Debbie: When you come into Duffy’s, it
