If I Made a Movie From the Book “Alcoholics Anonymous,” Would AA Services Sue Me?

Question by basilwhite: If I made a movie from the book “Alcoholics Anonymous,” would AA Services sue me?
The book “Alcoholics Anonymous” is alternately cited as having the author “Anonymous” and “AA Services.” If I adapted “Alcoholics Anonymous” into a movie, could AA Services sue me, and if so, on what grounds?

DonInLondon December Archive 2007 – Day In the Life of a Recovering Alcoholic. Being in recovery from alcohol has helped me reclaim my life. Alcoholics Anonymous is integral to my ongoing recovery. I have a new life and better choices because I keep safe and in good company and in contact with fellows in recovery. Today I have life choices, something I had missed for a long time. This is a personal journey, I may share about AA, I never speak for AA, just for myself. Long may it be so a day at a time. DonInLondon – Day In The Life, one day at a time..

Is Alcoholics Anonymous Effective? Finally, Get the Real Facts Here FIRST Before Making ANY Treatment Plans for Yourself or Loved One

Is Alcoholics Anonymous Effective? Finally, Get the Real Facts Here FIRST Before Making ANY Treatment Plans for Yourself or Loved One

“Keep coming back, it works if you work it!” This is what is chanted at the end of every meeting, but what if you have “worked it” and you still keep going back and getting drunk or loaded? Now, most people in the program will say things like, “Well, you must not have really done the steps right,” or  “You didn’t go to enough meetings,” or  “You didn’t pray to your Higher Power,” or  “You know you did something wrong or else you would still be sober!” But what if the truth was that you did nothing “wrong,” that in reality you did not fail the Program, but rather the Program was just not a right fit for you, and in fact, it fails for most people? Hopefully even this little bit of knowledge would start to alleviate some of the guilt and shame that many carry due to numerous relapses and going in and out 12-step programs for many years.

My experience strength and hope is shared here on these videos. I would suggest anyone anywhere with addictive behaviour to find professional medical support and helpful forms of support. The type of support we choose is a personal choice. For me, a combination of professional medical support and the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous, helps me keep sober on a daily basis. Professional advice on medical matters is paramount in my opinion. I have found fellowship keeps me safe from relapse and has improved my outlook on living simply a day at a time. I do not speak as a professional or speak for anyone else but me. I have found my life improved emotionally, physically and spiritually by keeping safe and to suggestions from professionals and the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous. I do not represent Alcoholics Anonymous, I share how fellowship helps me keep safe one day at a time. music: “music for airports” Brian Eno: www.enoshop.co.uk my photo link: www.doninchelsea.myphotoalbum.com my other video: link www.doninlondon.myphotoalbum.com email me: [email protected] Alcoholics Anonymous Alcoholic Alcoholism Addict Addiction DonInLondon Don Oddy Recovery Rehab

Religious Elements in Alcoholics Anonymous Pt. 1

by Michelle Roth through Rev. Dr. James Kenneth Powell II, opensourcebuddhism.org This very interesting work looks into the history and nature of that most successful program for alcohol and addiction recovery, Alcoholics Anonymous. Included is an overview of the famed 12 steps. Is it a religion or a spiritual path? It simply depends upon one’s definition, but most certainly, Bill W. and friends took a hard look at a number of religions to piece the tradition together. Buddhism stands out in this, along with of course, Christianity.
