Bextra is a drug that belongs to the class of drugs called Cox-2 inhibitors, together with other medications, like Vioxx. It is god to know that Vioxx was withdrawn from the market because studies revealed it increased the risk of heart attack and stroke in patients who took it for more than 18 months.

A researcher said that it is possible that a doubled risk of suffering a heart attack or stroke to appear in patients that are taking Bextra.

The Bextra’s manufacturer response was that there was made a recent study among arthritis patients taking Bextra, and there weren’t found any cardiovascular problems.

Bextra’s producer also replied that the accuses are unsubstantiated and irrelevant, so they must not be taken into serious, using the drug does not expose the patient to risks.

I’m an alcoholic. I’ve been sober for 2 years. Recently, life has thrown me a curve ball and I’m just not where I thought I’d be. I’m forced to start over from scratch. On top of that, I just got out of a very long term relationship and am so hurt about it. Lately, I’ve really been wanting to get a drink. I keep rationalizing it that “I don’t know if I’m *really* alcoholic” “I can handle it now after 2 years” etc. etc. etc.

I don’t have much of a support system and I haven’t been to AA in about 2 years as well. I’ve been keeping sober on my own up to this point but… I’m really lost and even scared. What should I do?
