A Question About “Welfare Queens”?

Question by Princess of the Realm: A question about “Welfare Queens”?
My super Dem/Lib friend has just told me that the concept of Welfare Queens or women who stay on welfare for a very long time and have a lot of kids is a myth and they do not really exsist. She told me that there “might be a few who are drug addicts or alcoholics”, but the concept of “Welfare Queens” is a myth. Another co-worker and I disagreed, and our Dem/Lib friend said she needed to sit down and not discuss it anymore because she was going to get mad. What do you think about this “myth”?
